I was diagnosed with late-stage cancer and needed inspiration
to help me with the fight for survival. The main character of the book,
Coconut, is a dachshund who sees herself as a 35-year old single female
living in a major American city. Everyone tells her that she cannot
achieve her goals because she is only a dog. Yet she learns to drive a
car, holds rallies at restaurants and bars to convince them to serve the
canine community. She becomes a major influencer on social media where she
learns that dogs have psychological issues, much like humans. She opens a
practice working as a psydogatrist where she helps her clients deal with
issues similar in substance to those of humans. Coconut hates the word
''can't'' and ''try.'' Against all odds, Coconut achieves her goals one at
a time and breaks through barriers and in doing so provides inspiration to
canines and humans.
