Keep Talking 1 is an English language textbook specifically created for Japanese university students from the high beginner to the intermediate levels. The textbook integrates intellectually stimulating content with four skills practice in accordance with the principles of content-based instruction. Throughout the textbook, scaffolding supports conversational tasks and facilitates student-centered pedagogy. Additional activities emphasize the mastery of interpersonal and conversational skills.

Each chapter of Keep Talking 1 is organized around a single topic and presented with a cluster of related themes for students to explore through mini-conversations, discussions, and group activities. The content specific lexicon featured in each chapter helps to build vocabulary, while the communicative activities foster critical thinking.
